Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas announces its new Family Medicine Physician Domonique Cunningham, M.D., who will provide care at CHC/SEK’s Pittsburg North clinic at 3011 N. Michigan.

Dr. Cunningham has a full-spectrum family medicine practice and training, including caring for adult, geriatric, and pediatric patients in the inpatient, outpatient, and long-term care settings with additional training in obstetrics, emergency medicine, and procedural training.

Her hometown is Kinsley, Kansas, and she graduated from Kansas State University and Kansas University Medical School in Salina. She is returning to Kansas after completing her residency at Monument Health Rapid City Hospital Family Medicine Residency Program in Rapid City, South Dakota.

Dr. Cunningham is familiar with CHC/SEK. Through her medical school during the pandemic, she connected with the health center to help ensure that everybody under the age of two had flu vaccines on the appropriate schedule.

“I had a really wonderful experience prior to finishing medical school helping with a QI (quality improvement) project,” Dr. Cunningham said. “Ultimately, as my training progressed, the goals of CHC/SEK aligned so well with mine it made sense to come to work here.”

She especially liked the resources CHC/SEK had to help patients, with all patients seeking care at CHC/SEK eligible to receive services regardless of income or ability to pay.  Dr. Cunningham and her husband have a two-year-old daughter. Dr. Cunningham loves spending time outside biking, running, hiking, kayaking and camping. She’s also an avid book lover and reads just about anything from young adult to fiction and fantasy.
