Ducks for Diapers: Diaper drive brings Jeep, off-road enthusiasts together for a cause

Susan Yount, a registration clerk at the Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas in Fort Scott, is always looking for ways to support the Bourbon County community.

Susan knew that many families in her community needed diapers, and she knew just how to collect them. She called on her fellow off-road and Jeep enthusiasts to participate in a diaper drive on April 14 at the Kansas Rocks Recreation Park. She will host a second drive from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on May 12 at the same park.

Donating diapers can get a plastic duck, continuing the duck craze that has swept the Jeep enthusiast community.

“The diaper drive was just another way to help out my hometown and I knew that my off-road people would step up,” she said. Her Rock Park and Off-road community joined her in the past for Wheelen 4 Toys with the Elk Lodge for Christmas gifts for families, and was able to give toys and money donations to help 100 families in Bourbon County. “Our Jeeping and off-road family are absolutely amazing at giving back to our community even though most of them are not from Bourbon County.”

The diapers will be given to CHC/SEK Family Resource Specialists to provide for families in need.
